Comments Thread For: Roberto Garcia Scratched From Shawn Porter Fight?

You knew something was amiss when Roberto Garcia, scheduled to fight Shawn Porter tomorrow night at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California on the dedut of Spike's 'Lights Out' boxing series - was a no-show for the weigh-in earlier this afternoon.

Sources says that Garcia, who was contracted to face Porter(the former IBF welterweight titlist) at a weight limit of 147-pounds, was suffering from dehydration and also had B12-poisoning.

Who cares? It was another haymon mos match from the rip. Hopefully someone with a pulse takes his place, but I have a feeling rod salka is on standby for moments like this. #war arum

On a serious note I can already see that this Haymon PBC is in for a much BIGGER challenge than I expected. It's gone be hard when you have no support from your colleagues, boxing media and most importantly the fans. I heard people complaining about there being no entourages and ring music this is same people who criticize Floyd entrance for Canelo the circus act or whatever it was. Same people that complain about the Watsons being in the ring but now it's so much of a deal breaker as to whether you support it or not.

If they allow Andy Ruiz, why not Arreola?

Garcia needs to sit this one out. He could seriously get injured if he goes through with the fight.

I rather see Mayfield as of now.

Roberto Garcia was rushed to the emergency room this morning around 9 o'clock complaining of severe headache, dizziness & nausea. Doctors have ordered a catscan and blood work.
