Comments Thread For: Guerrero: Aydin Hit Me Harder Than Thurman

Former champion Robert 'The Ghost' Guerrero showed a lot of heart on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, as he withstood the feared punching power of Keith Thurman for twelve tough rounds. The naturally larger Thurman won a lopsided decision and retained his WBA 'regular' welterweight title.

After the fight, Guerrero gave praise to the power of Thurman but also said Secuk Aydin was a bigger puncher. Guerrero made his welterweight debut against Aydin in 2012 and won a twelve round decision.

Aydin is probably more heavy handed but thurman speed and explosiveness make him a more dangerous puncher

Like the guy above says, Aydin could have heavier hands but Thurman's punches have more impact because he's good technically, accurate and delivers his punches with speed.

      The same goes for Maidana

guerrero prides himself on taking beat downs. .imagine if he learned some damn defense, with that chin and just a little head movement, he will be a problem. .but he walks in a straight line eating punches like m&ms

just because you can absorb punishment doesn't mean you have to..bob n weave

Guerrero is saying it like it is. Aydin was the aggressor throughout their fight. He was going for a KO. In contrast, Guerrero chased Thurman, at least in the later rounds. Just shows he feared Aydin's power more than Thurman's.

The knockdown wasn't a punch to the back of the head, it was a right to his face which busted his eye open.

Hey look, Floyd Mayweather couldn't knock the Ghost down, Thurman did and Ghost was almost finished.

Thurman made a bad mistake staying against the ropes and I believe it cost him his left eye. If his orbital socket was damaged; he's finished just like Margarito.

Good fight but I expected better from Thurman. You pay the price standing and trading with guerrero and I think Keith may have ended his career prematurely.

Thats how hard thurman hits. Guerrero forgot what punch dropped him

Also, aydin was his 1st fight at 147 coming from 135.

He must think he fought Aydin last night.

I think if that if Guerrero fought Thurman first and won and then lost to Aydin a few fights later on a bigger stage, he'd say Thurman hit harder.
