  • Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez Blasts Out Leon in Third Round

In his super flyweight debut, WBC flyweight champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (42-0, 36 KOs) knocked out Valentin Leon (38-29-3, 21 KOs) in the third round of their non-title fight at Puerto Salvador Allende in Managua, Nicaragua. Leon was dropped twice before the contest was waved off.

Gonzalez's return is rumored to be coming in May, on HBO, against the winner of the final eliminator between Nawaphon Sor Rungvisai of Thailand and former Mexican world champion Edgar Sosa, which takes place later this month.

No. This was a local hometown appearance, non-title. It was basically a stay busy exhibition while other stuff gets sorted out.

And he was testing out 115. Now he's ready to go and will crush baby hands.

He's fought at 115 (a little higher) before. Testing yada yada was just copy. This was just an appearance and no point soaking down to 112.
