Comments Thread For: Golovkin Accepts Chavez's $1 Million Dollar Fight Bet

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-1-1, 32KOs) may have a fight on his hands. On Saturday night he called out Gennady Golovkin (32-0, 29KOs) and dared the dangerous middleweight to move up to 168-pounds.

After watching Golovkin's win over Martin Murray, where the Kazakh puncher retained his WBC-interim/IBO/WBA titles with an eleventh round stoppage, he feels very confident about his chances to win. Chavez will return on April 18th, when he faces Polish light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara.

Haymon and HBO. Highly doubt it happens.

And I don't blame Chavez for walking away before. From what I understand, he either had the big purse and an extension with Arum he didn't want, or a far lesser purse to not extend.
