Comments Thread For: Roach: Shiming Needs To Be a 'Pro' To Beat Ruenroeng

Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach says China's Zou Shiming must forget everything he thinks he knows about Amnat Ruenroeng if he wants to seize the Thai's flyweight world title next month. Zou, a two-time Olympic champion and three-time world champion in an illustrious amateur career, will be challenging for a professional world title in just his seventh pro bout on March 7, when he takes on International Boxing Federation champ Amnat in Macau.

The two met three times as amateurs, Amnat winning their first contest and Zou triumphing in the next two.

Roach said those wins will mean nothing come March.

This Shiming guy is the biggest Turd ever. His matchmaker must have PTSD by now. Impressive that they maneuvered someone into the Championship that Shiming can probably beat though. Now we know what Boy Band managers do after the boys grow up

Hes a 2 time Olympic gold medal winner and won bronze in another. Hes undefeated as a pro. Hes fighting for a title in his 8th fight, what more do you want from the guy. Again hes only fought 7 times as a pro. Deontay wilder fought 32 tomato cans before he got a title shot. When zou gets the title he will be forced to defend it against top 15 guys. Then we will know just how good he is, but for now hes facing a champion already so this should be a pretty good measuring stick. He has the best trainer in the game, I think zou shining will do really well as a pro, although hes probably not going to be the next Manny pacquiao but you never know.

He earned his amateur accolades 100% but everything happening in the pros is a Top Rank job through and through. He still fights like an amateur and has zero power. He will do good in the pros and will probably be world Champion but that will DEFINITELY have more to do with matchmaking to preserve ArScum's investment than anything else.
