  • Comments Thread For: Rocky Fielding Breaks Down Golovkin-Murray Clash

LONDON - Super-middleweight Rocky Fielding has watched stablemate Martin Murray prepare for a number of big fights over the years, but never has he seen the St. Helens man look as well-prepared as he is just days before his WBA Super world middleweight title fight with Gennady Golovkin on Saturday night (February 21), LIVE on Channel 5.

The 27-year-old Fielding trained alongside Murray in South Africa for the duration of camp and has seen the progression up close. He knows the challenger is more than ready.

"He's a very good boxer with good punch power" "Martin has been in at the top and he can take a good punch." Big mistake. GGG has far more than "good power." and if Martin Murray is only ready for "good power." then Martin Murray is not ready for GGG. Even better - "They haven't gotten physical with him and pushed him about. I think Martin can do that and still stay tight defensively." This is a good one. Murray is going to push GGG about. Yup. I guess that it's all over for GGG. Especially since Fielding says that Murray's running "wouldn't have looked out of place on the South African running team." Nice try, Rocky Fielding, but on Saturday night all the running, pushing, and roughing up which Murray can effect isn't going to make one bit of difference in the fight's outcome. GGG by anything he wants. Martin Murray beaten despite everything he tries. It is only a matter of how quickly this all transpires.

I can't begin to understand how Murray will beat Golovkin - MM just isn't that good.
Chin - untested, although stung at the end of the Sturm fight when Sturmy actually decided to turn it on
      Speed - Okay
      Power - Poor
Defense - High tight, average head movement. Plays riiiiight into Golovkin's hands

Why is everyone saying this'll be Golovkin's toughest test?!?! It's infuriating!

      Hope he wins doe #britboxingneedsit

A great buzz around Golovkin. Endearing outside of the ring, brutal inside it. Hard not to like him.
I'm English and hoping for a Murray win but he's up against it here. Also looking forward to Hughie Fury's fight, a very tough test for him!

The last 2 predictions from Groves/Lee were pretty good... not getting the same with Fielding?

Guns blazing? He usually doesn't come out guns blazing does he?

Also four rounds or less to get Murray out before the tides change?

Paul Smith's not defended the British title since June 2013. Is it not time for the BBBof C to strip him & match Rocky VS Callum?
