Max Alperovich of Fight Promotions has confirmed to BoxingScene.com that the contracts are in and a fight between the highly touted Ievgen Khytrov and Jorge Melendez is on for March 6th at the MGM Grand Ballroom in Las Vegas. This match-up will be televised on Friday Night Fights on ESPN2.

Khytrov, who's moniker is 'the Ukranian Lion' has a record of 8-0 (8 KO's). In his last outing he blew out the overmatched Maurice Louishome in three rounds in January. He is co-promoted by Fight Promotions and DiBella Entertainment and he recently inked with manager/adviser Al Haymon.

Khytrov-Melendez should be a good fight between two punchers. Khytrov has been very impressive so far

Melendez is a good yet safe fight for Khytrov. He's a JMW moving up and been on the shelf almost 9 months. Gave Maciel a good fight on the Martinez/Cotto undercard.

Considering Khytrov is fighting again in early April not bad and should be fun to watch. It'd be nice to see Khytrov taken beyond the 1rst round again.
