Comments Thread For: Hatton: Mayweather-Pacquiao, Biggest of The Last 25/30

The super-fight, Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao, could be announced in the coming days. Insiders believes this week is a make or break period for the fight negotiations. Either the fight will be finalized or fall through yet again. Promoters have been trying to make the match since 2009.

Manchester icon Ricky Hatton, who fought and lost to both fighters, is so excited about the fight potentially coming off that he's already booked his trip to Las Vegas for Cinco De Mayo weekend. The fight is targeted for May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

I wouldn't be too shocked if they fought to a draw though I have Floyd as the favorite to win by a small margin in an exciting fight that is better than most expect with both guys digging down.

O no, styles in this fight are very different, even Pacquiao's volume is too much for Floyd and he wins, or Floyd's pin point counter punching is too much for Pac.

I don't see a draw, unless they make it a draw "Judges and Promoters", to then turn around and get another $150 million from the public.

Basically style wise, this fight can only go one way.

I disagree. It could go one way or each guy could have their moments and make it close. I'm going with a 2-3 points difference where each guy takes his turn winning rounds. I think their styles will mesh because Pac will bring it non-stop and Floyd will have to dig down and use all of his defense and countering. But no matter who wins, unless it is by a KO, people will be seeing two different fights and bias will play into how spectators judge the fight.

I hate to see this fight going to judges decision, I hope it ends by KO

I'd want it to be a competitive first fight so that 2 more fights follow. Damn that would be epic

I see a lot of clinching by Floyd whenever Manny gets close. He'll shoots his 1,2 combo clinch, pot shot while moving around a lot. We will see a lot of jab from Floyd. So basically he'll jab, clich, 1,2 combo, clinch, move around to evade Manny's aggression.

Manny has to come up with a great game plans. Don't let Floyd clinch in a close counter, move his head a lot to avoid those jabs, counter Floyd if he can, and most importantly, he have to cut the ring and throws 1,2,3,4 or more shots whenever he got him on the ropes. Hit him on his arms, elbows, rib cage, and straight down the pipe.

It'll be a tactical bout, Floyd will never go toe to toe with Manny. Manny's advantage is whenever he throws more combinations, Floyd will revert back to his philly shell defense meaning more chances on Manny lands some of his shots coz there's nothing coming back at him.

This will be a big one! As the fight gets closer you will see Floyd haters (mostly Pac fans) begin to panic as there last little itty bitty claim against Floyds undefeated hall of fame career comes to an end.

                    I think its up there.

Although wasn't the Louis-Schmeling rematch massive? With all the US vs. **** thing going on. Don't think any fight would be as big as that one but wtf do I know. I'm no boxing historian.

I'll probably ask kadyo. I think he's in his late 20's at that time.
