Comments Thread For: Team Figueroa Confirm Ricky Burns Fight is Possible

According to Omar Figueroa Sr., father and trainer of former champion Omar 'Panterita' Figueroa, his son is indeed targeting a ring return in April, at 140-pounds, against Ricky Burns, a two-division beltholder.

Earlier this week, Burns' promoter Eddie Hearn had confirmed negotiations were ongoing, with manager Al Haymon, for his boxer to face Figueroa in the United States. Figueroa has not been in action since his August knockout of Daniel Estrada. The former WBC lightweight champion suffered a bad cut in that much.

I thought Burns was moving back down to 135? his last outing was...well. I think Beltran has damaged him for good since the jaw.

The person that deserves a rematch is Mcwilliam Arroyo he got robbed against that Ruenroeng guy. Also Seda vs Narvaez In Argentina.Palacio vs Wlodarczyk in Poland the first fight go robbed but got a rematch.Cheo had that fight against Burns but would've lost to the judges as well even if he was healthy. Its really hard to win outside of the US for a world title.
