COLUMBUS, OHIO—An uppercut and three follow-up punches made James “Buster” Douglas a household name.

And 25 years later, the brief heavyweight champion is still pleased his knockout of Mike Tyson ranks among the biggest upsets in sports.

“Being crowned champion was a dream for me,” Douglas said of his Feb. 11, 1990 upset. “To achieve that was the ultimate. It was awesome.”

You can tell Douglas has watched this fight MANY times. He often talks about the fight as if it happened yesterday whenever he's being interviewed.

Nice story. He's got one of the single greatest accomplishments in all of sports. Then even in his loss to Holyfield, he's set with his money as Tyson and Holyfield struggle financially.

Tyson's one of my all time favorite fighters but that fight is probably my favorite. It's the epitome of boxing. Anything can happen. A few punches can change history, and heart is one of the most important aspects of the fight game.

Yeah I still have friends mad at me about that fight, specifically how I'd grind on them about their hero getting flattened. There's a million opinions of how that fight went, but I guess if a man loses a person that big in his life, right before the biggest event in his life to that point... There is this thing called willing yourself to do something you would normally be unable to accomplish.

There have been many amazing fights since then, but still, man was that ever a great one.

True, true however the devastating loss of his mother could have actually inspired him... Just a thought.
