Comments Thread For: Saunders: I Believe I Can Beat Quillin or Lee Right Now!

Billy Joe Saunders, the WBO World Middleweight mandatory title challenger and number one ranked contender, has stepped aside to allow world champion Andy Lee to make a voluntary title defence against Peter Quillin expected to be in New York, and may make his glittering American debut on the undercard.

Saunders, the current British, Commonwealth, European and WBO International Champion, and his manager and promoter Frank Warren have allowed Lee to fight the American star next, subject to approval from the WBO, and Saunders will fight the winner - that both hope will be Irish rival Lee - in a huge summer showdown.

Hopefully Lee beats Quillin because it will set up a great fight. Lee V Saunders in Ireland in the summer. It could be a stadium fight in front of 30,000 people at T****nd Park.

Bad move in my opinion if they're holding out til the summer,Lee will not beat Quillin.Looks like Billy Joe will have to do it the hard way.

          No you don't, Jas.

Eubank blew his chance - that ridiculous game plan cost him what could have been a comfortable win.

One thing Saunders has going for him is that he's also ranked top 10 and/or top 5 by the IBF, WBA and WBC. So if Quillin wins the WBO belt and still doesn't face Saunders, he won't be completely out in the cold with the other 3 sanctioning bodies.
