Comments Thread For: Murray Vows: I Have The Tools To Beat Gennady Golovkin

Hekkie Budler and Martin Murray are fighting fit ahead of this month’s big showdowns in Monte Carlo.

Budler defends his WBA and IBO titles against number one contender Jesus Silvestre and Murray challenges middleweight king Gennady Golovkin for the WBA and IBO belts.

Murray isn’t fazed by the formidable challenge that awaits him, even talking up Golovkin’s virtues. He sees a man who can be beaten.

Watch Golovkin take that turtle shell defence to pieces. You can't box out of the turtle shell against a guy who is as offensively creative as Golovkin. It will help him avoid damage but he will be stuck behind it as Golovkin does what he pleases.

Golovkin does many things people on here dont pick up. I was watching the Rubio fight the other day and Golovkin actually adjusted the KO punch as he was throwing it, to hit the part of Rubios head that was exposed. That is amazing accuracy.

Id actually like to see this fight go more than 6 rounds,if only to see what golovkin does with a guy who can handle his power. What i dont want happening,is for ggg to steamroll murray, and then the haters suddenly claiming that murray was a bum,and that golovkin gets no credit for beating him. Then again,if golovkin doesnt steamroll him, people are going to say that golovkin looked bad, because he couldnt get him out of there early. so screw it,whatever happens, happens.

I expect Murray to be optimistic; I don't expect him to be successful.

Cool hype up the fight for me then let me down after like 2 slightly competitive rounds hahaha. Best of luck, if he somehow wins put him in with Andy Lee

So far no-one at all has been able to remotely handle GGG's power. Murray is very tough, so this a great test.

This article seems familiar. Oh that's right. Macklin and Geale said the same thing.

Watch GGG vs Bouadla to see what happens when someone can take GGG's power. GGG just keeps punching them. That fight only went 8 rounds because it was scheduled for 8

I like golovkin but let's not pretend his opponent is remotely special...the problem is that there is literally no stand out fighters in the middle weight division to prove where golovkin stands as a fighter.
