  • Comments Thread For: Marquez Leaves The Door Open For a Brook Showdown

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez has left the door open for a possible fight with IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook of the UK. Marquez recently went to the UK to accompany his fighter, Daniel Estrada, who face Kevin Mitchell over the weekend. Mitchell and Brook share the same promoter in Eddie Brook, but there were no negotiations about a Brook fight.

Marquez, 41-years-old, has yet to make a decision regarding his future. He is recovered from a knee injury and still going through rehab. After his knee recovers, he will make a decision on his future.

I called this months ago. JMM is gonna cherry pick the weakest belt holder at 147 so he can claim more division world titles than Morales

      Brook will wreck him.

At this stage, Brook by stoppage. In terms of both style and size, Brook is all wrong for him.

Pretty much agree, given the size disparity, Marquez's struggles with movers, his age, knee injury (if legit), likely drug testing, he'd probably be safer fighting Pacquiao again than Brook.

He shoulda been WW champ years ago. First when he got robbed in the third Pacquiao fight then after he KO'd Manny(manny was the rightful belt holder not TB). Also, how can you complain about this fight. This should be a great fight. Better and more competitive than Pac vs Algeri.

Algieri would beat JMM and Brook

He just looked bad against Pacquiao cuz hes going against a ATG and FOTD.

Manny won the first 3 Marquez fights fair and square. Were they close? Yes but certainly not even close to a robbery, especially considering he landed more punches and pressed the action in the 3rd fight. Marquez had to hire a convicted ped dealer as his personal strength coach, and suddenly get more ripped and had big bulging muscles with acne all over him to beat Manny in a fight he was getting his ass kicked and his nose broke. Marquez still hasn't legitimately beaten Manny pacquiao.
