They are throwing young Gassiev to the wolves.

Dorticos have a very deep amateur background and is age 28. He's fought better opposition as a pro than Gassiev and has won nearly all his fights by KO.

Gassiev is just age 21 and has comparably little amateur experience.

Dorticos would be a good opponent for the still-developing Gassiev in a couple of years, but not now. He's not ready.

This fight was originally scheduled for 2/27 on FOX Sports. This is a very intriguing fight between two hard-hitting undefeated prospects who are not afraid to lose their "0". I hope it will be televised.

Agreed, wish we had more tough prospects fighting each other. Gassiev may be young, but I´d never bet against a russian these days.

A nice fight on paper and I do like Gassiev but I think Dorticos' experience (am and pro) and the greater depth of his pro opposition have to make him a wide favourite.

That said at age 21 Murat has all the time in the world to bounce back from this likely loss and I think he has the potential to become one of the top rankers at CW in a few years.

Whichever way you read it, it's always good to see a coupla of promising undefeated prospects laying it on the line against each other instead of clinging onto that O like a life ring in high seas.
