Early last month, BoxingScene.com first reported that promoter Gary Shaw had finalized a deal to merge his company with new promotional player Roc Nation Sports. As part of the deal, he brought over the bulk of his stable - including undefeated heavyweight contender Bryant Jennings and middleweight contender Tureano Johnson.
The merger was short-lived. This past Monday, Shaw officially revealed that he parted ways with Roc Nation. The reason for the rapid break was never revealed, but industry sources indicate an internal rift where there were "too many Chiefs and not enough Indians."
