Comments Thread For: 2012 Olympic Silver Medal Winner Inks With Al Haymon

BoxingScene.com has been advised that 22-year-old Tugstsogt "King Tug" Nyambayar has signed a contract with powerful manager/adviser Al Haymon. Nyambayar is a successful amateur out of Mongolia. He won a silver medal at the 2009 World Amateur Boxing Championships held in Milan. He followed up that achievement a few years later by gaining a silver medal, as a flyweight, at the 2012 London Olympic games.

In the Olympics, he lost to Cuba's very talented Robeisy Ramirez Carrazana in the gold medal bout. Coincidently, Nyambayar beat Misha Aloian in the Olympic semi-finals, and Aloian beat Carrazana in the 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships.

World title within 10 fights? He's trying to outdo Rigondeaux, lol.

        Al Haymon Got a Soldier

I've seen this kid box... He's nice with it. He can be to Mongolia similarly what GGG is to Kazakhstan. His gold medal match with Robeisy Ramirez in 2012 was pretty damn CLOSE...

Tug is legit, he is a real action style fighter he was built for the pros so I was surprised he got so far with his style of pressure.

The Ams are going to change though, they are getting rid of headgear I heard for the Olympics. Bringing it back old school getting guys more ready for the pro style and working more on technical sharp shots that land and do damage instead of that flurry and run crap.

AIBA is already changing. Some of the boxers and coaches are complaining of cuts from headbutts though. I think that's what adds to the unpredictable nature in the sport of boxing... It's a combat sport. They should treat it as such... That's why they call this boxing and not "freeze tag."

You mean lomachenko? Loma fought for a world title in his second fight and won the WBo title in his third. That is tied with the record

Tug is the real deal tho, has good pop and good hand speed, also throws good combos. Hopefully Haymon can get him some exposure to a bigger fan base. Would like to see more lower weight guys have a chance on Network TV.

Never seen this guy fight before but good luck to him.

Guess we'll never get to see 'King Tug' vs Shiming.
