  • Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez Says Naoya Inoue Clash Possible

WBC flyweight champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (41-0, 35 KOs) continues to train in San Judas, preparing for his upcoming defense on February 28 in Managua. It was revealed that Valentin Leon is a possible opponent for the date. There are several others being discussed, like César Gándara, Alejandro Morales and Humberto Morales - although organizers say Gándara (23-5, 9 KOs) is unlikely because he "was asking a lot of money."

I love "El Chocolatito" This world be a great fight for him. A step up to Super Flyweight against another undefeated champion. Gonzalez does't get the respect he deserves in the West as most casual boxing fans disrespect the lower weight classes.

Roman is loved in Japan however and he has embraced their fan base. This fight would likely take place in Tokyo, Home of Inoue but there will probably be more in the crowd cheering for Chocolatito

he'll be the smaller man in this fight..i'd like to see how he handles that..i wonder if a rigo fight could happen..rigo couls surelly make 115-118 right?

People underestimate Roman Gonzalez. He's rated 5th P4P by Ring Mag.
Undefeated in 41 fights with 35 knockouts. Yes he is smaller in height than Inoue but he's a much better fighter. For a guy his size he packs allot of power and his movement is sensational

A Rigo fight would be good. It's unlikely but not impossible. The biggest issue would be the weight. If the money was right I'm sure they could do it.

That would not be an easy fight for Rigo. If he went into that fight underestimating Gonzalez he could end up on the canvas very quickly.

Rigo can do 118 i think. When he was at the Roc Nation debut card, he said he was a natural 118
