LONDON - Eager to make up for lost time, Hughie Fury returns to the ring on February 21 in Monte Carlo knowing a win over Ukrainian dangerman Andriy Rudenko will make the rest of the heavyweight division sit up and take notice.

The 20-year-old Fury, inactive since May due to illness, is back firing on all cylinders and keen to emerge as the UK's leading heavyweight prospect in 2015. To do so, he'll have to beat Rudenko and stay one step ahead of unbeaten Olympic champion Anthony Joshua.

“Rudenko has had 25 fights, 24 wins and 16 knockouts, and I don't think Joshua has fought anybody with that sort of record yet,” said Fury, 14-0 (8 KOs). “It might be a while before he does.

Hopefully he won't be overworked this year. It was always a matter of time before he picked up a serious injury with that ridiculous schedule he was on.

Any young fighter should be able to go through his schedule of 14 4 or 6 rounders in 15 months.

Well, I mean it's not like he's having any grueling fights. his virus wasn't really related to boxing. Plenty of young fighters have had that kind of schedule when they first come through, I think it's refreshing.

However, if the virus he had had something to do with boxing, then of course they should readjust his schedule accordingly.

Can't help but like hughie these days. Tyson of course divides opinions but he's funny but hughie seems determined and makes a very good point. Joshua doesn't seem all that exciting to me and has been brought along very slowly

I thought Hughie was progressing well before his injury. It's refreshing to see a young boxer staying active.

He's completely correct of course. I'd say that Rudenko is a more dangerous opponent than Kevin Johnson (AJ's supposed next fight) who literally throws about 5 punches per round.
