Comments Thread For: Chavez: Arum Can Says 1000 Things, He Won't Stop Me!

Former WBC middleweight champion Julio César Chávez Jr. appeared on the program A los Golpes and discussed his upcoming fight with Andrzej Fonfara on April 18th. The fight is taking place at a catch-weight, reportedly at 172-pounds. The location, American/Mexico television networks and venue are still unknown.

There is still an ongoing legal fight between Chavez and promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank, who claims the boxer still owes his company one more fight. Chavez, who signed a recent deal with manager Al Haymon, maintains he is a promotional 'free agent.'

Bob Arum is an obstructionist. He is not interested in making fights, he is interested in blocking them!

This whole Arum/Chavez dispute has been going on for at least seven or eight months.. If Arum truly had a contract with Chavez Jr. like he claimed, he would have already gone to court and stopped Chavez/Fonfara from being made or even being negotiated if he wasn't involved. The fact that he didn't tells me that he is talking out of the side of his ass again and has no legitimate claim to another Chavez Jr. fight.

Arum should offer to let Chavez fight out his one fight against Rameriz. Gilberto had an off night against an underrated, crafty veteran and Chavez was talking **** for it. I'd still pick Rameriz to batter the hell outta Julio.

Let him go Arum. Let him become another over-protected Haymon fighter.
