Comments Thread For: Wilder Had Eye Injury, Injured Right Hand With Stiverne

Deontay Wilder (33-0, 32KOs) had to overcome some obstacles in winning a twelve round unanimous decision over Bermane Stiverne to capture the WBC heavyweight title on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Wilder knew the fight would get tougher after injuring his right hand during the fourth or fifth round. Wilder also had an eye to his left eye, which was very red - but that injury happened during a training exercise on Friday night when a stretching band accidently hit him directly in the eye. I suspected that after he threw a body shot he stopped throwing his right.
Regardless he did good just out boxing Stiverne

Working that jab worked in Wilders favor. He don't wan to fight Klits or Fury with an injured hand though.

He did land some thunderous right hands in the early rounds. I wonder if he would have KO'd him if his hand had not gotten injured????

Even with a convincing win the excuses are starting. This opens the door for Stiverne to do the same. He will say postponing fight made him over train that's why he was flat probably a right hand injury resulting in wild left hook counters wilder take impressive win don't make excuses for your best win and jab

              Injuries

As a rule don't buy into injuries without X-rays or MRI'S to prove it. Any one can make up that nonsense. He is justifying the fact he didn't score a ko instead of celebrating improving in everything else jab movement left hook chin. I hope breland teaches him his famous jab right left hook ko calked cherry pie special

Yup, excuses are coming out. When people ask him if Klitschko in his radar he'll say Fury is on sight next. After winning against Fury, he'll say talk to his promoter. After defending the worthless belt against a TBD he'll say talk to his adviser.

he could have got him out of there if he worked the body. I only recall one right to the body

                    Cherry tree special

wilder just has to put jab right left hook in combo instead of one at a time brelands golden glove coach taught it to him cherry tree special in combo much more deadly then 1 punch at a time jab right left hook lights out baby
