Comments Thread For: Malignaggi Breaks Down Amir Khan vs. Kell Brook

Former two division champion Paulie Malignaggi broke down a potential British blockbuster between Amir Khan and IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook. There are plenty of links between these three fighters.

Khan stopped Malignaggi in the eleventh round of their 2010 clash in New York City, which was Khan's debut in the United States.

Brook captured the title from Shawn Porter, who scored a brutal knockout over Malignaggi. Porter had beaten Devon Alexander to get the IBF title, and last month Khan dominated Alexander over twelve rounds.

      Yeah, pretty sound analysis.

Paulie has a tendency to talk up the fighters that beat him, so I expected him to be biased towards Khan, but this was perfectly objective.

Anybody know how much Brook weighs on fight night?

The thing is Brook fights at range like Khan, and his work rate isn't that high. Very tough to get the best of Khan at range. But Brook does look very big for a welterweight, and very strong too.

I've always thought Brook was a bit too "textbook" to beat Khan.

Brook's jab will be the dominant punch of this fight. His timing and will be the dominant factor.

How'd u figure that? It's either a powershot or an L for Brook..according to Paulie and everybody Else.

Khan only loses by a KO, but if Brook can't time him coming in silly with a left hook, then Khan takes it by a decision.

Khan should easily beat Brook, I honestly don't see anything special in Brook.

I however do see a lot of special things in Khan, Khan should beat him unless Brook pulls out some Danny Garcia shot or something (which I don't think he possess in his arsenal).

It's a good analysis from Paulie.

Brook is a more rugged, natural WW than Khan.

But Khan IMO has better hand / foot speed.

I'd pick Brook by KO - but Khan has fought a higher caliber of opponent and if he boxes smart he could win a UD.

Brook is clever though, has some real skill and very decent power. He could also get under Khan's skin during the pre-fight hype.

It is the perfect time for Khan to take the fight on - good opportunity for belt at 147 before Brook gets the opportunity for other fights.
