Comments Thread For: Roach: Pacquiao, Cotto Will Not Have a Joint Camp

The next couple of months could become a very busy time for veteran trainer Freddie Roach.

Roach trains several high profile fighters, including WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto.

There are ongoing negotiations for a fight between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., and there are also ongoing negotiations for a fight between Cotto and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

IF has as much chance as a snowball in hell , Manny will lose clearly , and Manny had a chance to fight Cotto at 154 and wanted a CW , noway he fights Cotto at 154 or above .

Actually its pretty clear Manny has a better chance of winning based on his better performance against 4/5 of their common opponents besides Marquez who mayweather pulled all the way up from 135 to 147 for the first time and still came in overweight. Manny beat Marquez 2/2 at his best weight so even that is more impressive.

Also what is your point of Manny not fighting him at 154 and above? Hes already a very small welterweight, why should he have to gain a bunch of excess weight to accommodate cotto so cotto doesn't have to change his weight, especially since pacquiao already beat him in devastating fashion and took his belt. Cotto was literally begging his corner not to make him go out for the 11th round, I've never seen that before from any fighter, I was shocked cotto was doing that. He was literally almost in tears. Pacquiao has nothing to prove against cotto lol if anything cotto should meet pacquiao in the middle which would be the fair thing to do.

Either way that really isn't that interesting considering how bad pacman dominated him. Rematches are good when the fights are close like his wars with Marquez, or close fights and rubber matches with his battles and wins over Morales and Herrera. Or blatant robberies like his impressive domination over number 3 p4p Tim Bradley. Those fights by the way are what separates a big mouth like Floyd who calls himself the best over versus a legitmage stakeholder for best ever pacquiao who actually proved his worth in the ring and beat prime legends at their best weights.

Since Floyd arguably lost to maidana, and never faces in and out south paws like pacquiao, pacman has to be favored in this. Think about it, he always faces slow flat footed guys like canelo maidana and Guerrero. The last in and out guy he faced was cotto who actually gave him a tough fight and won some rounds. That was after cotto got ktfo by pacquiao which always leads to fighters going in big slumps as witnessed by bradleys recent draw and others in the past like ledabwa. Now we have Manny who is the best in and out fighter in the game who is faster than cotto, has better defense and footwork, throws more combos and from different angles, and is also a southpaw. Imagine how much trouble Floyd is going to have especially with the stamina that pacquiao has. Most guys like Judah gas out at the end which is why Floyd took over. Manny can throw 100 punches in the first round and by round twelve will still be throwing 85, especially against his nemesis mayweather who has been ducking and slandering him through the media for years. Also when Manny doesn't respect your power he just plows right through you and beats the crap out of you as witnessed by his recent domination of runner/boxer algieri. I suspect the fight with Floyd will look very similar to be honest with you. If mosely can almost knock Floyd out Manny can definitely. Also Floyd has been knocked down before. Second rou d against Judah he was clearly knocked down but the judge said his glove didn't touch the canvas when it clearly did lol Manny will easily destroy this foolio and take his p4p and ppv crowns back and hopefully send Floyd into retirement and leave Manny to be the only big star for the next 5 years.

It would be nice bit Oscar and bob aren't that dumb. The Pacquiao duckweather fight will sell 3 million regardless and canelo cotto on a different date would just be icing on a big cake for them.

That would be nice, but no chance of that happening when Canelo vs Cotto can be the main event on a different date and make a lot of on its own.
