Could boxing ever produce an event as big as WrestleMania III?

Boxing needs something like the 12th man.

Is this a joke? Heavyweights already produced dozens of events far bigger than that.

Ali-Frazier had the entire Nation watching. Ali-Foreman had the entire World watching. Louis-Marciano had the entire Nation watching. Tyson-Spinks had the entire nation watching. Boxing was on the front pages of newspapers from the 20's all the way up to the 90's. Look at the number of Sports Illustrated covers of boxers during the 80's and 90's..........more than NFL players. Look how big boxing was during the 60's and 70's.........Than during Tyson mania......It wasn't until after the LEWIS-TYSON fight that boxing really died from the public eye outside of Floyd/Manny. I blame that on the massive decline of the HW Division.

Even if 100,000 people show up to JerryLand for the fight, there's no way that they bring in even $15m off of that at the gate.

And "better atmosphere", lol? One day at Jerry Jones' faux mausoleum in Arlington, TX or a fight week in Vegas? Almost 17,000 people watching the fight live at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, 10,000 watching the fight by stagescreen setup at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, and another 15,000 people watching the fight on closed circuit across the rest of the MGM Las Vegas properties.

You can't deliver a 2-3 week event, which the hype for Mayweather-Pacquiao would warrant, from Arlington, TX.
Why the *** are you trying to debate me on this?? I dont give a *** what you think!!

Edit: have you even been to a live fight??? I have numerous times... in fact i was there live at aquas caliente casino for bradley-peterson, and was there live at staples center for klitshko vs arreola, now guess which one had the better atmosphere genius!! Its not rocket science!

Wresting always seems to have a good atmosphere. Audience participation is an integral part of pantomime.
