Comments Thread For: Team Cotto Hope To Resolve Canelo Talks By Next Week

Gaby Penagaricano, legal adviser to WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs), tells BoxingScene.com that a deal is still being negotiated for a potential HBO Pay-Per-View fight with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs), with a target date of May 2nd.

Cotto and his handlers are not paying any attention to a recent 'open letter' that was circulated by Canelo, who claims the Puerto Rican star is dragging his feet to finalize a deal.

I need a testament from Cotto preferably in audio/video. Talk is cheap coming from a 3rd person party. Cotto doing a small interview will wash out all doubts. As of now, Cotto is entertaining Mayweather camp and Canelo camp's offer.

Either way Mayweather or Canelo is not a bad match up. The hardcore boxing fan in me would rather see Cotto vs GGG.

It's gets to the point in this sport, where people would actually pay to see live negotiations,so we can finally find out who's bull****ting us,and why these things take so damn long. Hell, they' make millions with may vs PAC negotiations, and they'd only have to price it at about 5 bucks a pop.

Cotto already did the mexico/puerto rico thing with margacheato and he's already fought Mayweather and recieved his highest payday. So does he want the challenge of beating the p4p king and being his first 1st loss or doing the puerto rico mexico thing again, I would want to see him take the challenge of beating Floyd, he has a diff trainer and at a higher weight, and he probably feels like he beat floyd the first time what does he get for beating canelo? Cotto is a competitor he's gonna go for beating floyd and making history and making a ton of money. Mayweather vs Cotto II Barclays Brooklyn, NY Puerto rican weekend FOR HISTORYI WOULD RATHER HE FIGHT PAC but Bob will not allow it

This is starting to become tiresome, one more week huh ? This fight would have been signed already if it was happening.

Gotta feeling Bob don't want it,as so that Manny can't face Floyd, and they can make the Vargas fight, all the money stays in house etc, take into account does anyone actually believe Floyd wants to face Manny ? Cotto vs Money is the perfect get out clause for both Bob and Floyd, the Manny fight can be made at a later date.

Canelo wants this fight signed because without Cotto, he is not getting 05/02/2015.
