  • Comments Thread For: Roach: Marquez Smart, Does Not Want To Get KO'd!

Veteran trainer Freddie Roach, who works the corner of WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, is not expected to every get a fifth opportunity to face Mexico's Juan Manuel Marquez in the ring.

After three controversial endings, with the first bout being a draw and Pacquiao winning two close decisions, they met for a fourth time in late 2012 - and Marquez scored a one-punch knockout victory in the sixth round.

Or maybe he does not want to give Las Vegas judges another chance to rob him after he spends 12 hard rounds giving Pacquiao a boxing lesson.

how do you give someone a boxing lesson when you keep getting knocked down and get out thrown and outlanded all the time?

First fight, the judge that scored the fight a draw, only marked down 2 knock downs in the first round instead of three,so it would have been a majority decision for pacqiluiao. That means the first 3 fights go to PAC. But you got to give it to marquez,if he didn't win in the 4th fight,he would keep asking for rematches until he won in the 100th.

If JMM has knee trouble he better not fight Manny as he needs to be at 100% to have a chance of winning (and I mean whether or not the knee was operated on). Plus, unless JMM could repeat that spectacular K.O., he cannot possibly end the rivalry in as good a position as he enjoys now.

"We would like to fight him again and settle things"

No need..Marquez "settled things" in the 4th fight.

Nothing to take away from Pacquiao, but Marquez is in his 40's. Roach even said that would be the last fight, and rightfully so.

So Roach was only kidding when he said whatever happens, the 4th would be the last?...lol

If Pacquiao would've won, there wouldn't be a rematch. So I agree with Marquez's stand point. No rematch either.
