Comments Thread For: Wlodarczyk Has Surgery, To Return in May or June

Former WBC cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (49-3-1, 35 KOs) underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder. The boxer will now recover and won't return to the ring until May or June at the earliest.

He will not be able to go forward with a rematch against Grigory Drozd (39-1, 27 KO) on March 21 in Moscow. Drozd dominated the Polish champion in September to capture the WBC crown. There is a rematch clause which the Pole exercised. The rematch will still happen at a later date while Drozd fights another foe in March. Though, Wlodarczyk's handlers have stated that the particulars for the March date were never complete.

Diablo and Rakhim Chakhkiev should fight each other again,so we can see how far Rakhim has come in the last 18 months.

Not sure i have any desire to see Drozd rematch Diablo so soon, the fight was awfully one sided.

For sure, that would be another exciting fight for however long it lasts. I think Chak beats him soundly now, providing he's sorted out his stamina issues.

Chakiev didn't lose because of his stamina issues (well yeah, he did, but it wasn't the main issue).

He lost becasue he thought they were fighting a 4 rounder.
