Comments Thread For: Golovkin Open To Facing Canelo or Chavez in Mexico

WBA/IBO/WBC interim-middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (31-0, 28KOs) says he'd be thrilled and honored to fight in Mexico. Golovkin recent visited the country to get officially belted by the World Boxing Council.

The boxer who headlined an event called "Mexican Style" earlier this year with a blowout of Marco Antonio Rubio, would have no problem topping an event in Mexico against country superstars Julio César Chávez Jr. and Saul “Canelo” Álvarez.

Both of them I'm quite sure he would beat. My opinion is he would win against Junior with more ease than Canelo but he would still beat both. If Canelo were to fight him, it would be hard not to show Canelo more respect for taking another difficult fight.

Yeah, because Ward is definitely ready to fight again soon.

A knockout will get you a draw in Mexico against either of those two. I'd still like to see the fights though.

Golovkin puts Jr. in a coma. Now with Canelo if he doesn't wash the man I don't know if he's getting a decision in Mexico on him.
