Comments Thread For: Canelo Hungers To Return To Training For 2015 Run

Discussions are still ongoing for a middleweight collision between WBC champion Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) of Puerto Rico and Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs).

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya, who promotes Canelo, is hoping to finalize the HBO Pay-Per-View fight for May 2nd, Cinco De Mayo weekend.

Canelo, away from the gym for several weeks to heal a left ankle injury, is hungry to get back in training.

Canelo vs Lara 2 should be a good fight for some of the critics of the first fight. Make it happen in March. Fire Devil. Boxing

I didn't realize Canelo was nursing an ankle injury. Hope it doesn't become an issue.

      Does anyone know the specifics?

My advice to Canelo is to emphasize to his footwork. Unless Canelo has some congenital defect which prevents him from having a level of coordination in his legs that would permit his moving as an athlete (instead of a tin woodman), it would be time well spent. God knows that Canelo needs to upgrade his footwork. Canelo's footwork makes Oscar Bonavena look like Sugar Ray Robinson.

Canelo is hungry to let his snake out of the cage.

                Canelo vs Cotto
                Canelo vs GGG
                Canelo vs Kirkland

Practically anyone of those. But the first one is the best matchup of them all, so much on the line for both fighters.

Canelo is one of the fighters been baby sitting by De La Hoya therefore he is overrated. First, Canelo lost to Mayweather and then to Lara. Canelo hasn't fought and beat a truth champion.

Glad to know the hunger is back. The Lara camp was allegedly horrible. I hope the fight gets signed soon. The long layoff is a worry to me
