Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is backing the recent statements that were made by WBC/WBA welterweight and junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.

British star Amir Khan is chasing a May 2nd date with Mayweather. The pound-for-pound king, in a recent interview on BoxingScene.com, said Khan wasn't known enough and his name didn't carry "enough weight" for a pay-per-view event.

Hearn agrees with Mayweather's opinion, stating that Khan's name value will do no better on American pay-per-view than Marcos Maidana or Robert Guerrero.

There's a positive & negative side to all this! The positive, Mayweather may finally have to fight a threat! Floyd is so call back into a corner because there is really no one he can fight other than Manny that will do big PPV numbers! I agree with Hearn, Khan vs Floyd will only do around 800,000 buys (maybe)! The negative, no Manny vs Floyd! Khan vs Brooke will be a good match! My question to Khan is "what was the reason to sign with Haymon is Floyd keeps passing over you?" Khan can make more money on his own!

Even if Floyd chooses not to face Khan, I don't believe Khan will fight Brooke! Brooke is a real threat to Khan right now & Khan's team knows it! Khan stated Brooke would need to bring something to the table in order to make the fight, so Brooke won a championship belt from Porter! Khan still refuses to make the fight! Khan will only get around 2 - 2.5 million to face Floyd!

That's a good question! If the rumors are true about Showtime loosing money, I'm sure they will push Floyd to make the fight with Manny! Especially if Canelo vs Cotto is made!

you forget about the fame and glory that comes with facing floyd, and if you beat him you hit the jackpot.

you also have to look at the potential endorsement deals, especially for someone like khan

fighting floyd is a bigger deal than fighting brook, even if the brook fight gets khan an extra 2 mil, there are other things brook can not offer khan

khan really believe he can beat floyd, he'd fight floyd for 100£. khan doesnt care about the money
