  • Comments Thread For: Mayweather-Pacquiao: UAE Group Up Offer To Floyd

The investment group from Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates has confirmed it’s upped its already record-setting offer to Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Mayweather Promotions to fight Manny Pacquiao during the first half of 2015 to an unprecedented $120 million.

“The media has been speculating the offer has gone up $10 million to a guaranteed $120 million, and they’re right,” said M. Akbar Muhammad [who previously worked with Don King], a long-time boxing executive and one of the principals in the Abu Dhabi-based group, which plans to host the event there during the first half of 2015.

Just 10M $ increase ? They need to make the offer 200M$ to catch Floyd's and everyone's attention.

Floyd has a contract with showtime.

How much Manny would get? It can't be done if they would not offer Manny anything.

          I don't trust these dudes

Macau made $45 billion in revenue in 2013, that averages out to $123,287,671 per day in profit.

They could easily surpass this offer and they have a history of putting on major boxing events.

These Arab guys have no boxing experience whatsoever and want Floyd to promote the event and work with him after.

First of all 3 outta 4 events that Floyd has promoted has lost money.

2nd, This has robbery written all over it.

3rd, The split should be 50/50 or 40/40 and 20 goes to the winner.

Hopefully this "UAE Group" has a plan for Bob. He's been pretty verbal about not wanting to make this fight and prioritizing the Alvarez Cotto fight over Pac's very own demands of being ready to fight Floyd.

These guys always make these huge offers but no one ever fights for them. Why do I get the feeling the only way "UAE Group" will release the $200 Million dollar site fees is if Floyd and Manny Moneygram $350 to Nigeria to help them get released from a refugee camp?

if money was this important to floyd, he would have endorsement deals with athletic equipment companies

dude only walks when he wants to walk, he doesn't like to be forced into situations such as fighting outside his comfort zone, or not having full control of who his opponent is

Major companies don't want to sponsor someone with Mayweathers image. Anyone that draws big revenue in boxing isn't forced to fight anyone. Look at Pacquiao cherry picking mismatches that really are embarrassing for a fighter of his magnitude.

Yes, because women-beaters get endorsement deals all the time
