Comments Thread For: Velez-Sonsona, Fortuna-Smith Triple Eyed For March

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz has advised BoxingScene.com that he's interested in staging a televised tripleheader on a March date, potentially in New York City, with several key bouts involving fighters from his stable.

The first bout would involve a final WBC featherweight eliminator between Marvin Sonsona (19-1-1, 15KOs) and unbeaten Jayson Velez (22-0, 16KOs). Lewkowicz has already spoken with Gaby Penagaricano of Cotto Promotions to make the fight.

Wow, shocker, you predicting a Puerto rican winning a fight. You are as predictable as sunrise.

I don't think so. Make this fight in the Philipines, and Sonsona gets the KO. Anywhere but Puerto Rico, and Sonsona is the favorite. A win against Salvador Sancnez lll is the best on Velez resume. He struggled with Baranza and now a gift draw with Gradovich, he looks limited.

I like Velez. He has a lot of heart. Is that the same Gonzalez that quit against Burns? If so Velez Makes him quit too.
