I don't really buy into the Floyd has low output argument, he simply hasn't needed to throw a lot of punches. The amount he throws is dependent on the defence of the fighter that he fights, he threw somewhere near 700 punches against Cotto who is good defensively.

If you punch with Khan, he's there to be hit, especially once you get into the middle rounds. Khan's instinct will always be to fight fire with fire, no matter how hard Virgil Hunter works with him.

Look back to the ODLH-Mayweather fight and merely recall watching Floyd catch-and-shoot, with his back on the ropes, and Oscar trying to rush him. Can't remember the round, but Floyd cracked Oscar with back-to-back counter rights to the jaw and buckled Oscar's knee.

Khan gets hit with that shot, his eyes gloss over and the legs stiffen up.

I agree, a young Mayweather hated rangey fighters with fast combinations and decent pop but Mayweather from around 04-07 was probably in his absolute peak, physically, psychologically and in terms of skill. His footwork was better and he moved a lot more, throwing more punches too.

i think Mayweather then and now both beat Khan by close decision but younger looks better.

He always leads with his feet and his face before his fists and that is suicide against a fighter like Floyd. Seriously, all this hype from beating Alexander?
