Comments Thread For: Frank Warren on Mayweather-Khan, Andy Lee, More

The fact that Carl Froch was the sole fistic representative in the top ten listed for the BBC Sports Personality Of The Year award does not truly reflect boxing’s remarkable renaissance in 2014.

Few sports have experienced such a huge surge in popularity, both in participation and numbers of spectators packing venues from small provincial halls to stadiums including Wembley, London’s O2 and ExCel, as well as those in Manchester, Liverpool, Belfast and Glasgow.

Warren still hasn't paid Burns the £102k he owes him for the Kevin Mitchell fight. Absolute scum of the earth.

Why do I have a feeling that Warren is going to move the fight away from Ireland to London/Manchester because he expects to make more money?

3Arena is the biggest indoor arena in Ireland and at 9,500 it's probably too small to make the money they want.

People often talk about how Floyd "looks after" himself between fights, but that couldn't be further from the truth. The truth is Floyd is a naturally small guy with low body fight, in actuality he doesn't "look after" himself in between fights, he eats what he want's whether it be Pizza or Burgers, and he lounges around maybe he works out here and there but he gets his rest and take time off. But mainly it's that Floyd can't put on a hold much weight on his body, much like Pacquiao. They have very low body fat due to their short stature. It has nothing to due with taking care of themselves, they are just naturally small men that don't require much effort to get the weight off....

As champion Andy Lee has every right to choose where he defends his title. However Warren will have the last say. "Money talks"!!

he could fight in thormond (sp?) park in limerick. might be a bit wet and windy but no worse than any munster game so the fans will still come. Or even the aviva if the opponent is good enough to bring out the crowd.

Those would be ideal locations in warmer months, especially Avia. They're talking like they'll be able to draw 30,000+ against BJS. But Andy's talking St. Patty's weekend. I can't recall ever seeing a major prize fight in the cold like that.

The whole Warren factor just has me concerned. I'm sure he'd like to get Billy Joe that belt and say the heck with unifications.
