Comments Thread For: Frampton: Rigondeaux is Real WBA Champ, Not Quigg

IBF super bantamweight champion Carl Frampton say mandatory challenger Chris Avalos will be a tougher test than Scott Quigg. Frampton defends his belt against Avalos on February 28th at the Odyssey Arena. Most fans in the UK are demanding a Frampton-Quigg showdown, which both boxers admit is a huge fight.

Frampton does not view possible fight with Quigg as a unification. He says Guillermo Rigondeaux is the real WBA champion at the weight, while Quigg has the often looked down upon "regular" title.

Imo I think Frampton beats Quigg in a close one. Rigondeaux would school both though.

let see if I get this right, rigo is the real champ, you got the other title and you are fighting avalos now, quigg later, then somebody else, anybody else but rigo and you call quigg not real champ? Then, what are you? A real coward?

Frampton is the one with the legitimate paper belt while Quigg is the one with the imitation paper belt. Neither are legit champs until they fight Rigo.

At least Frampton has admitted in the past Rigo is leagues above him, and he's not ready for him yet.

Rather than fake calling him out like Santa Cruz, with no real intention of having serious negotiations.

I think Rigo should just move up to 126 if he has to, in order to get bigger fights.

I mean, it's four pounds? Not like a welterweight moving up, or middleweight.

I know he's not even a big 122 pounder - if anything he's on the smallish side compared to other guys in the division. But sometimes if you're a true badass, and a pound for pound beast, you gotta go up and fight bigger guys.

I mean, Pac and Floyd regularly fought guys 10-20 pounds larger on fght night?

                Why can't RiGOD?
