An opponent has been named for Jose 'Chelo' Gonzalez' ring return this weekend in Carolina, Puerto Rico. The lightweight contender will face Portugal's Antonio Joao Bento, in a supporting bout to a super flyweight eliminator between McJoe Arroyo and Mark Anthony Geraldo.

The bout marks the first fight back for Gonzalez (22-1-1, 17KOs) since his failed bid at then-lightweight titlist Ricky Burns on the road in Scotland last May. McJoe is the real deal. he has the look of a future champion. His textbook dismantling of tough Hernan 'Tyson' Marquez in Mexico was very impressive. On the flip side, Martinez needs to retire before he becomes a stepping stone and Gonzalez, unfortunately, was exposed big time during 'gut check' in his bout with Ricky Burns.
