  • Comments Thread For: Kell Brook: Khan Looked Great, But Don't Deserve Mayweather

Kell Brook has told Amir Khan to stop jumping the queue.

The IBF welterweight champion watched from the Sky Sports studio as his British rival claimed a unanimous points win over Devon Alexander in Las Vegas.

Khan immediately called out Floyd Mayweather and suggested that his speed and movement would pose problems for the unbeaten American.

His performance drew brief praise from Brook, but the Sheffield fighter insists Khan has not done enough to earn a shot at the biggest star in boxing.

Brook will be eating Khans meat in the center of the ring if they fight anytime soon. Dude needs about 5 more big fights before stepping up to Khan Pac or even that woman beater Maynever.

I have to agree, Khan control Alexander with his range and speed. That would be a problem for Brook unless he can wrap him up and keep him on the ropes. But Khan knows how to wrap up too. So meat sandwhiches all day.

Brook makes me laugh. Fought the hard way to win a title? He's been fighting nobodies until Porter.

I have a BIG issue with this "Khan has not done enough to earn a shot at the biggest star in boxing." remark.

Mayweather is "the biggest star" according to whom exactly, other than his fans?

To many of us, Pacquiao is the biggest star in boxing, and has been so in the last decade or so, in spite of that robbery decision vs. Bradley and that one-wonder-shot loss to Marquez.

Also, to many of us, Floyd actually has two losses in his career, vs. Castillo in their first fight and vs. De La Hoya. So no matter how hard his biased fans push for it, they will not convince a huge percentage of boxing fans that he is supposed to be the best.

Also, let's say they were equals in boxing level (which they aren't, Pac has bigger accomplishments, his only problem is not being an American) just for loyalty, love and appreciation for the sport, people should root for Pac more than Floyd. It's very simple, Pac is a wholesome fighter, no tricks whatsoever, he FiGHTS. Period. Like a man. He doesn't use tricks (tons of grabbing, clinching, elbowing), he can fight going forwards and backwards, he is never afraid of anyone no matter the size, and he has better hand speed, more punching power, better leg movement than Floyd. Only his defense is not as good, simply because he doesn't cheat like Floyd (clinching excessively and never getting point deductions), grabbing a lot, elbowing. Pac is a bona fide and very humble fighter, he goes in there to fight, and he takes his chances. He is hated by Floyd fans mostly, because he is so good a fighter, whereas Floyd is hated because he is a cheater, trickster, cowardly super-boring so called "fighter" who enjoys the favor of both the referees and judges simply because he is an American, fighting always on American soil, and has the tons of millions of dollars to buy everybody, including his opponents on occasion.

So guys, please be careful on throwing out such statements as calling someone "the biggest star" when you perfectly know there is absolutely no consensus about such an affirmation!

Brook obviously doesnt like Khan so he will say this

If the shoe was on the other foot Khan wud probably say the same about Brook...

However apart for Pac..Khan does deserve the Floyd fight

I'll even say Floyd is an easier fight for Khan, whereas Brook wud be a harder fighter for Khan

              styles make fights

Well done Khan.Lets not get carried away, Khan fought to a perfect game plan and I grudgingly have to give respect to Virgil and co. for a well thought out game plan, they did their home work and made him look a limited counter puncher who didn't have a clue on how to cope with the fast in and gone raids that Amir employed so effectively .
Weather Amir would be able to look so effective against a come forward heavy hitter such as thurman who I thought did well against a massively under rated fighter last night is another matter and would he be able to withstand the heavy assaults of the youthful, spiteful Brook .I think we are about to find out.I am now hopeful that the Pac /Floyd fight looks to be in place and I excited by the prospects of Amir really proving his point a welter amongst the real top dogs . ....but please if he belongs there then only fight the top dogs ..only top five fighters now if you really feel you belong... keep a prospective there not all as easy as that.

                    I would agree.

He looked very good against Alexander, as most expected he would.

Still, Alexander at this point isn't a top 10 in the division so a solid win will be needed to get Pacquiao or Mayweather.

If Khan-Brook happens then great. Brook's jab and timing will control that fight, his power will end it.
