Comments Thread For: Provodnikov: Bradley Beats Chaves, l Want The Rematch

Ruslan Provodnikov will be a very interested observer of the December 13th HBO showdown between former two division champion Timothy Bradley and rugged Argentine Diego Chaves. The fight takes place at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas and will headline a tripleheader.

Provodnikov bounced back from his controversial split decision loss to Chris Algieri by stopping the faded Jose Louis Castillo in November 29th in Moscow, Russia.

Bradley/Provodnikov 2 has to happen. It's not like Top Rank has a ton of options for them, and the first fight demands a second go around.

This rematch makes sense but a fighter like Tim should be fighting the other top ww contenders to get a chance at the lineal belt. I wonder how he and his team feel about the decision to resign with TR now?

Tim literally will not get another title fight at ww despite being seen as the 3rd best ww in the world. He will not get fights against other top contenders to position himself as either the ibf/wba/wbc mandatory.

He made a great payday for the rematch but where does he go now?

Its ******, bradley has proven in their first match that if he just uses his boxing ability he easily beats provo, hell even chris algeiri proved that against him, but if you want a senseless slug fest that doesnt prove who's actually the best BOXER but who can take the most blows to the head, go ahead. might as well fight pac again, but provo has proved he cant handle boxers he's just brandon rios with a different name and nationality if you just use boxing skill, these guys are easy to beat and a waste of time. He should go after kahn or garcia he wins then he's back in the big picture, but provo is a waste of time

what about a third fight with manny? they both hold a victory against each other. top rank can recycle that one.

I doubt Bradley will fight Provo again. He almost retired because of the damage he took in their fight. Why risk another, possibly career ending beating vs a guy you already have an official win over?

The first fight was great... and I wouldn't mind at all a second. The only issue I have is the fact Provodnikov needs a big win and not against someone coming out of retirement. Bradley is still a top contender and holds win over some great opposition; Provodnikov on the other hand hasn't done much at all since his slugfest with Bradley.

No. Very few people think Tim beat Manny the 1st time. The 2nd fight was just as wide a margin as the 1st one. Very few fans want to see a 3rd.

Tim should have the chance to eliminate top tier ww's and position himself for a fight with Floyd. But tim made his decision-now he will be in with the chaves/provo/algieiri-not fights that a top 10 p4p fighter should be limited to.
