  • Comments Thread For: Rosado: After My Eye Was Hit, I Saw Three of Lemieux

BROOKLYN - A crowd of 6,532 at Barclays Center were treated to a special performance from two warriors Saturday night as David Lemieux (33-2, 31 KOs)stopped "King" Gabriel Rosado (21-9, 13 KOs)in the 10th round of a very competitive main event on HBO Boxing After Dark.

The Montreal-native Lemieux retained his NABF Middleweight title while displaying the incredible power that has put the entire middleweight division on notice. Lemieux scored a knockdown in round three when he delivered a flurry that knocked the Philadelphia-born Rosado off-balance and put him on the canvas.

        Lol dyin.

Pretty sure I heard them say rosado had skin graph or something similar done to the skin by his eye. Not good. That thing will keep blowing up, as it did tonight.

yeah he had the scar tissue taken out to prevent further cuts in the future which i felt worked for the most part... the swelling was a different story. pass the wire!

Well, there is a certain degree of chance involved in whether a punch is gonna cause a cut or a haemotoma. Most of the time, of course, even a big punch doesn't close up a fighters' eye.

It is curious that Gabe claims never to have been cut before moving up to MW and had only been stopped once, but since has had his face ground to mush in pretty much every fight he's been in.

In this case my suspiscion is that Gabe was gonna lose anyway, Lemieux showed more patience and stamna than he has in the past, and Gabe was simply taking too much early punishment.

I do think that both the loss of vision and the desire to protect the eye from further harm discouraged Gabe from mounting the kind of offense which could have made the rounds closer and maybe won a few for Rosado.
