Comments Thread For: Klitschko-Jennings Getting Close For Barclays on 4/25

Sources have advised BoxingScene.com that a deal is very close for undefeated top contender Bryant Jennings (19-0, 10KOs) to challenge WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF unified heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko (63-3, 53KOs). The fight would be televised on HBO on April 25th.

The frontrunner venue has emerged as the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Manhattan's Madison Square Garden and Olympiahalle in Munich, Germany were the other two venues being considered.

Tom Loeffler just said in an interview that the fight will happen sometime next year. because as he said, Fury has earned the right to fight him and Wlad hasn't ever given up a belt and is not about to start now.

But I think Wlad would like to go for the WBC belt first if possible. Will be interesting to see what Don King/Al Haymon has to say about that. I have a feeling neither will give up a heavyweight champion quickly.

I would rather seem him fight Fury if we're waiting til April 25th but they're over there talking about a fight with Joshua and not even mentioning Wlad that I've seen so I guess it's Jennings. It's an OK fight, obviously not Leapai level crapness but not quite as good as Pulev either.

                Kovalev-Pascal
                GGG-Murray
                Cotto-Canelo

i hear the summer is when this fight will likely happen, and i can see him going after the wbc first but if its Stiverne i can see a bunch of obstacles getting in the way of that fight, so Fury might likely be next if he beats Jennings...we'll see.
