  • Comments Thread For: Klitschko's Return: Jennings Under Serious Consideration

Sources have advised BoxingScene.com that undefeated top contender Bryant Jennings (19-0, 10KOs) is under serious consideration to face WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF unified heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko (63-3, 53KOs).

Bernd Boente, the manager of Wladimir, told BoxingScene.com last week that Jennings was one of the names in the running for Klitschko's next fight.

Yea, makes sense if Wladimir doesn't have mandatories at the moment. Jennings gets a 'courtesy' shot against all the belts, whilst Stiverne-Wilder irons itself out and we've got ourselves a killer HW main event for mid-late 2015.

Although, doesn't the winner of Chisora-Fury II become mandatory for one of Wladimir's titles after this Saturday?

He smartly eliminates Jennings from the equation if he manages to get that fight.

Yes, but it won't be forced in 2015. Leapai was Wladimir's last WBO mandatory.

I'm cool with that, as long as he gets to the WBC belt and Fury/Chisora winner (which will be Fury).

They recently said negotiations had to start in April I believe after his fight in March he has to face the winner of Fury-Chisora unless a unification fight takes place.

It's not like Wladimir isn't still capable of doing 3 fights a year (like in 2012). Jennings, Fury/Chisora and Wilder/Stiverne sounds a true champion's work to me.

He really only has one year as a pro before he goes back to being an amateur. He's gonna have to get ready for the 2016 Olympics, if he is serious about that or even allowed. He'll only have maybe two fights left at pro level.

I was hoping Jennings would wait it out till Wlad retires so he could grab a belt. I like Jennings a lot, really good guy. Still hope down the line he gets a title but facing Wlad is a difficult challenge.
