  • Comments Thread For: Bellew Gets Revenge, Split Nod Win Over Cleverly

Echo Arena, Liverpool - In a highly anticipated rematch, Tony Bellew (23-2-1, 14KOs) won a twelve round split decision over Nathan Cleverly (28-2, 14KOs). The scores were 115-114 for Cleverly, 116-112 for Bellew and 115-113 for Bellew. The fight was sanctioned as a WBO title eliminator.

It was high drama from the star, with both boxers looking for big punches. Bellew was unloading with the harder shots, but at the same time his face was starting to mark up by the second. Cleverly was trying to find his range with the jab. Bellew was looking for the knockout with every punch.

Perfect fight to show two guys who wont amount to SHT in the cruiserweights! Both guys were scared out of the 175 division by Stevenson and Kovalev. If Huck or Lebedev want an easy win, face either of these two uninspiring guys, one a slow plodder and the other a guy who only knows how to flick a pathetic jab and has never heard of a left hook in his life.

Huck would get a better match out of Nelson. He'll blow a hole through Bellew.

          LMFAO

Yea I wouldn't be surprised. I thought both of them looked bad. I can't see either winning a belt at cruiserweight. I think Lebedev, Huck and Hernandez will crush either of them.

Had my money Bellew so I'm happy, but this fight was ****.

I think Huck is rubbish, but he'd stop both of them on the same night. If Cleverly didn't hurt his right hand he's ******ed.

I thought the first fight was good. This one wasn't. Still, fair play to Cleverly staying up with that mamba in his pants weighing him down.

This stinks like a fix to me. Cleverly didn't look like he was trying, and both guys and the promoter were immediately talking a third fight.
