Comments Thread For: Scott Quigg: Carl Frampton is The Fight I Want, Fans Want

Scott Quigg says he is “150 percent confident” he can defend his WBA super-bantamweight title against Japan’s Hidenori Ohtake on Saturday, but has one eye on a future clash with Carl Frampton.

Quigg's fifth defence will form part of the Sky Sports Box Office bill at the sold-out Echo Arena in Liverpool this Saturday.

Quigg told Sky Sports News HQ he had only seen limited footage of the Japanese champion, who is ranked third in the IBF list and fighting outside his home country for the first time in 26 contests (22-1-3).

I support scott he's a good guy, but lets not cut the cheesecake before we ice it. The fans want somebody to fight rigo...to test rigo..to impose your style..He's on the P4p list not frampton! Scott you vs frampton is just something we will settle for compared to a rigo fight from either of your or carl and you know it..

Yep. Scott's an honest guy, he'd fight Frampton tomorrow given the chance. Hearn and McGuigan are the ones preventing this.

I think the opposite in that McGuigan doesn't want it - clearly just not entertained listening to the offers on the table.

Frampton can just have some really easy defences and make some really good money with risking anything and then look for the big fights.

Hearn doesn't seem to concerned about throwing his fighters under the bus.

I think Frampton is probably the more skilled boxer but Quigg is just like a dog - he aint going anywhere, hits hard and has energy for days.

Frampton vs Quigg is a bigger fight than either of them against Rigondeaux.

            Welcome to reality.

Seems like alot going on in the UK circuit right now.

Hopefully we get to see some of these fights.

Hearn has no problem sending guys over seas or putting them in risky fights, which is unusual for European promoters. I'm pretty sure it is NOT Hearn, but I do suspect it is Gallagher.

As for McGuigan, I mean you honestly think Quigg is going to trouble Frampton?
