  • Comments Thread For: Cotto-Canelo: Arum Eyes Cowboys Stadium To Host

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is convinced that the fight between WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs) will happen on May 2 at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. The veteran promoter believes the venue will pack in 50,000 fans for the contest.

Both fighters were scheduled to see action in December. For different reasons, both withdrew from their scheduled dates. Now most are expecting them to go directly into a mega-match between the two of them.

LOL. The fight is not happening if Cotto wants 75% against Canelo.

I don't think 50k people in texas like boxing that much.

Bob Arum and Karceno talk with each other from time to time. Where else would he get this information.

Cotto knows he has the leverage, he knows how badly Canelo needs this fight so I'm not surprised he is taking advantage of it. Big name, credibility, title... Or Canelo can fight Golovkin hehe, who will end his career in one night.

STAY AWAY from Texas, Cotto. MSG or nothing.
