World heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko tipped the scales at slightly less than challenger Kubrat Pulev on Friday, but was the clear winner in the traditional pre-bout stare down.

Klitschko faces IBF mandatory challenger Pulev from Bulgaria on Saturday in Hamburg in the 17th defence of his world titles, with his WBO, WBA and IBO belts also being defended by the champion but not at stake for the challenger.

It doesn't matter who stares down at the scales, it matters who stares down on his knocked opponent in the ring.

There is a severe problem with translation or interpretation of Pulev's words.

He never said Klitchko "fights like a girl". The meaning was that Wlad "acts like a girl" before the bout: It's about ducking Pulev for years, about running away from drug tests, about dirty tricks at the press-conference; about providing smaller gloves at the official training.

Anyway, after Klitchko hits the ground tomorrow night none of this will be of any importance.
