In the negotiations, Who is the "A side"? Carl Froch or Chavez Jr?

There's no way Chavez would be the "A-side" in the UK.

I mean even in Mexico people know he's mostly famous for being the other guy's son. No doubt he's a talking marketing tool, but by now its fairly obvious he isn't going to be like his dad and people have cooled down on him.

And that's sad, because Jr. does have all the physical attributes to be a worthy successor to the Chavez name. He's just spoiled rotten and lazy

I think Froch would still be negotiated as the A-side, since he has a belt. But that may cause problems in Vegas, because Chavez can put butts in seats and will want the lions-share of the purse.

It depends, if the fight is in the UK, Froch is the A side. If its in Vegas, Chavez will be. Froch is not well known in the US whereas Chavez is a Household name

Well the whole A-side/B-side thing doesn't take into account where the fight takes place.

Because where the fight takes place is ultimately determined by the A-side.

Chavez is definitely the A-side, because he can dictate where he wants the fight, and the monetary terms. Froch needs Chavez, more than Chavez needs Froch.

If Chavez wanted the fight to be in UK, he'd be making more money, and dictating the terms for the most part - same if it took place in USA. Either way, Chavez is dictating more terms, and getting the lion's share of revenue - whether that revenue comes from USA, or UK.

I would say Chavez, he's known in the U.S. and in Mexico. Only hardcore boxing fans know who Froch is outside of the UK. With that said, I think 50-50 would be fair as Froch is the better fighter, champion and would help sell the fight well.
