Comments Thread For: Kovalev: This Fight is Dangerous For Me, For Him Too!

Unlike other boxers who seem to age a little with each punch they absorb, Bernard Hopkins is still a marvel to watch at 49 years of age.

The Philadelphia native is gearing up for his 66th professional bout as he tries to increase his record as the oldest world champion in boxing history.

He will be two months shy of his 50th birthday when he seeks to defy Father Time once more by squaring off against Russian Sergey Kovalev in a light heavyweight unification fight today at the Boardwalk Hall Arena.

The death of Roman Simakov is never mentioned when addressing the power of Kovalev. Is it bad taste to recall a fallen warrior when speculating about the man who vanquished him?
Sergi's defining moment arrives in hours along with Hopkins desire to avoid a gunfight.
B-Hop will retreat from ultimate danger and eventually lay his weapon down.

Either way...history is made tonight. Hopkins either proves people wrong or he finally gets KOd.

Tonight's the night champ!! Don't just HURT HIM, let him get up and damage him badly. Make him suffer and humiliate him. It's about damn time this dirty hugging, clinching and headbutting little bastard gets a good beating.

        KOVALEV BOMAYE!!

The thing with this fight, is that Kovalev's style power and ring skills are very comparable to Pavlik, Cloud, guys that style wise have "0" chance against B-Hop. If Hopkins wasnt 100 years old, everybody and their mother would be picking B-Hop by 10-2 schooling.

Been that Hops is 49 anything can happen, but if father time doesnt catch him, he wins fairly easy, theres nothing on Kovalevs game that suggest that he is any better than those guys I mentioned!

No they aren't. They're not even similar. That's like comparing Golovkin and Manny Pacquiao.

You can't seriously believe that Cloud and Kovalev are comparable at all? Besides power which Kovalev has much more of.

That's like comparing Stevens to GGG.
