Comments Thread For: Cunningham: No Floyd Would Be Major Disappointment

Kevin Cunningham, trainer and manager of Devon Alexander, would be very disappointed if they beat Amir Khan - and then fail to secure a fight in May with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Alexander and Khan will clash on December 13th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Both Khan and Alexander are gunning to face Mayweather (47-0, 26KOs) on Cinco De Mayo weekend, May 2nd of next year.

But larry, seriously, who at welterweight is there? Brook, khan, devon are the only choices. His only other option is Garcia or moving up, which I think is the best choice. Cotto at 155

You will be disappointed while fans will be overcome with joy over the fact we don't have to watch a Mayweather vs Alexander match-up

I agree but if he's going to keep fighting at 47 then brook, khan, devon are the only choices because he's not doing biz with top rank. It's kind of depressing when you realize there is only 3 elite fighters between 140 and 160.

Mayweather-Alexander would bomb hard on PPV.

Seeing as how his options are limited, do you see the possibility of him fighting khan even if he loses? I wouldn't blame him, that devon fight would be a disaster
