Comments Thread For: Dyah Davis Reacts to Donovan George Testing Positive

As reported yesterday by BoxingScene’s Jake Donovan, super middleweight fighter Donovan George tested positive for a banned substance, causing his August decision win over Dyah Davis to be overturned into a no contest.

George has been suspended. According to his promoter, Hitz Boxing, George had injured his hand prior to the fight and had taken an anti-inflammatory but had forgotten to disclose that to the commission. [Click Here To Read More]

George on his Facebook he said he took a Tylenol 3. Tylenol 3 does contain codeine, which is an opiate and is tested for in many places. The codeine is a small amount however, so I'mgguessing he took more than one and/or he took stronger opiates. Certainly isn't A PED by any means, just a pain reliever. Of course, the commission hasn't specifically stated what he tested positive for.
