  • Comments Thread For: Hearn Likes Idea Of Anthony Joshua-Kevin Johnson For 1/31

Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson, 29-6-1 (14), reached out to BoxingScene earlier this month to call for a fight with Britain’s undefeated Olympic Super heavyweight Gold Medalist Anthony Joshua, 9-0 (9). The New Jersey-based boxer’s plea did not fall on deaf ears as Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, has told The Daily Mail that Joshua versus Johnson could be lined up for a January date at London’s O2 Arena. Just heard about this. Johnson is painstaking to watch but at least he might take Joshua a few rounds so we'll see how his stamina is and if he gets frustrated.

I dont like this fight. Kevin Johnson provides not threat for him. Hes gonna come and survive. We need someone who actually punches back with bad intentions. Not with a jab.

At this stage in Joshua's career, it's a good fight. Johnson might not get up to much in the ring but he'll give AJ rounds and that's what he needs. I'm going to have a cheeky punt on Johnson to stop Joshua too

I'd like the idea of a guy who doesn't throw punches at me fighter, too, if I was Hearn$! LOL

Or you can set up a pinching bag in the midle of the O2 ring and watch Joshua do 12 rounds with it. Same thing.

Hope 2015 sees joshua in a competitive bout against someone with ambition to actually win not just survive, The Dillian whyte fight would prove alot about joshua he seems to get riled up when whyte is ever mentioned to him(look for a ifl interview with kugan) theres history there and whyte may have a mental edge having put him down in the amatuers or joshua may put the record straight

Might as well as go with Malik Scott. Johnson would definitely take him 10/12 rounds and AJ stamina needs to be groomed from now onwards but the fact that Johnson doesn't really throw anything back is just annoying to me.
