2004 Olympic gold medal Alexander Povetkin continues to rebuild his career in style. Two fights removed from a decision loss to heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko, Povetkin stopped the usually durable Manuel Charr early this year and on Saturday night he knocked out Carlos Takam with a single punch to capture the WBC silver title in Moscow Russia. The fight was even after eight rounds, but Povetkin changed everything with a huge ninth - where he dropped Takam hard with a series of shots. Takam never recovered and was knocked out cold in the tenth.

I guess its easy to hate Russia its President and its people, when your home country "Usa, Usa, Usa" is drowning in historic federal debt to the tune of 18Trillion, and unfunded liabilities pushing almost 200Trillion. And you have a totally incompetent President that would rather do photo-ops and play golf, instead of doing his job. Povetkin is definitely a force to be reckoned with, he just doesn't have the height or the speed to deal with the taller current Champions. But outside of Wilder, Wlad and a few others that have height and decent speed .... Povetkin is dangerous, big time.
